Start earning today

ChargeLab Rewards is available to eligible single-family homeowners in Canada. Subject to the terms and conditions of the program, you will earn 10¢ per kWh when you charge at home. For the average Canadian EV driver, that's over $350 per year!

Just connect your EV charger to ChargeLab to start earning and maintain a stable connection to continue collecting ongoing rewards, which are paid out once per quarter (every three months).

In addition to your ongoing rewards, you can earn $25 for every person you refer who connects a charger to ChargeLab for the first time. Referral rewards will be added to your quarterly payment, so spread the word to increase your earnings!

ChargeLab Rewards is partially supported by Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR). Credits that ChargeLab earns through CFR are reinvested in building out charging infrastructure across Canada. This includes building more EV chargers where Canadians live, work, and play. Learn more about Clean Fuel Regulations on the Government of Canada's website.

To find out if you're eligible for ChargeLab Rewards, click the button below to fill out a quick intake form.

Frequently asked questions

How do I join the home charging program?
Complete this form and then download the ChargeLab app on iOS or Android. Once we have confirmed your charger is eligible, navigate to the "My chargers" section, and register your charger.
What chargers can I register with?
You can register on the ChargeLab app with an OCPP smart charger, such as the Autel Home Charger, Wallbox Pulsar, Siemens VersiCharge, SWTCH/Home EVL007, or Grizzl-E Smart. We will continue to add brand specific instructions for additional home charger models over time.
How do I get paid?
Once you have successfully registered your charger onto the ChargeLab app and completed a successful charging session, ChargeLab will send a email confirming your connection. You'll earn 10¢ per kWh when you charge at home, and you’ll receive your rewards gift cards on a quarterly basis sent to the email address you used to register with. As long as you maintain your connection to the ChargeLab network, you will continue to receive quarterly rewards. ChargeLab uses a system called Tango to send gift cards. It allows you to select from dozens of options, including Amazon, DoorDash, Starbucks, and Visa Prepaid card.

We will be switching to cash payouts for rewards by the end of 2026.
How do I earn referral rewards?

You can earn $25 for each person you refer to ChargeLab Rewards. Your referred person must complete the interest form on this website using your referral code (provided to you via email once you are enrolled and your charger is connected) and connect an eligible home charger to ChargeLab for the first time. At the end of each quarter, we will tally how many home chargers are still connected to ChargeLab that used your referral code to sign up. We will then multiply that number by $25 and add it to your quarterly payment.

Are there any subscription fees I need to pay to join?
The ChargeLab app and the ChargeLab Rewards program do not require any subscription or registration fees. You may opt in or out at any time with no penalties.
Will my charger still be accessible through my existing app?

Most EV chargers only support a single app connection. This includes Grizzl-E, Autel, and Lite-On chargers. To participate in ChargeLab Rewards, you must migrate your charger to the ChargeLab app. You can migrate back to the manufacturer app at any time, but this will unenroll you from ChargeLab Rewards.

Wallbox, Siemens, and certain other EV chargers support dual connections, meaning you can maintain functionality across both the manufacturer app and the ChargeLab app. The ChargeLab app will take priority over manufacturer apps for setting a time-of-use schedule.

How is this program economically possible for ChargeLab?
By connecting your home charger to ChargeLab, we earn carbon credits through the Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR). Credits that ChargeLab earns through CFR are reinvested in building out charging infrastructure across Canada. This includes building more EV chargers where Canadians live, work, and play.

Learn more about Clean Fuel Regulations on the Government of Canada's website.
Why is ChargeLab doing this program?
ChargeLab earns carbon credits through the Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR) programs for home chargers that are connected to our network. ChargeLab uses these carbon credit dollars to invest in building out charging infrastructure across Canada. This includes building more EV chargers where Canadians live, work, and play. By participating in this program with your home charger, you’ll also be participating in growing the Canadian charging infrastructure.

What is the CFR (Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations)?
The Clean Fuel Regulations are an important part of Canada’s climate that supports accelerating the use of clean technologies and fuels in order to reduce emissions. The Regulations are designed to incentivize innovation and adoption of clean technologies and expand the use of low carbon intensity fuels throughout the economy. These adoption projects generate verified Offset Credits that are required to be reinvested in Canadian infrastructure. ChargeLab participates in the Clean Fuel Regulations program by reinvesting earned credits in clean tech and fuel infrastructure so Canadians can power their electric vehicles.

As a charger owner, why can’t I just get my own carbon credits?
Canada’s CFR program requires home charging to be registered through a home charger’s Network Operator, and cannot be registered in the program by individual home charging owners.
